NPR Interview on ‘Khost, Afghanistan’

Heard on All Things Considered

Robert talks with Washington Post correspondent Doug Struck, who has been covering the story of three men killed by a U.S. missile in Khost, Afghanistan. The Pentagon said it was acting on intelligence, suggesting the tall man in the group might be Osama bin Laden. The rugged mountainous area was a training base and transit point for Taliban supporters, and the American military believes there are still many hiding in the area. The local people say the Americans are getting their intelligence from the wrong people. Struck was stopped by a squad of American soldiers and forbidden to enter the investigation site.
